Queezle Sister
This picture shows Queezle, a quail who lived with us for a year. She because our friend (not dinner), but eventually a wild male courted her through the window, and so she returned to the wild.

20,000!!
I got busy with my other hobby - weaving - after my son started college in 2014. Now both kids are out of the house, and I am finally feeling like cooking again! How are both of you?

So are all the issues that are out now flawed? I borrowed this book from the library - and only admired all those beautiful desserts.

Cooking in a vacation rental
I rented an AirBNB in Austin TX last year, with kitchen, and it had no pots and pans, no knives, no utensils of any kind, and no plates or glasses. But it did have a cork screw and wine glasses. Go figure!

Best cookbook for beans?
Similar to my issues with the pressure cooker. I use it for beans, because its the only way I can get them to cook through, but for many things, it doesn't save time. However, it does a brilliant job on hard boiled eggs! They reliably peel e…

Thank you all for giving me ideas on how to deal with cooking and its required planning. Its so good to learn how others manage. As a step toward vanquishing the chaos, I cleaned out and inventoried my chest freezer! And I've revived my EYB …

That app sounds useful. I use OurGroceries, which lets me make custom shopping lists for different stores. Its helpful. When I used to cook a lot, I had a menu book (recently found!) where I planned menus, shopping, etc. But it would typically t…

Best cookbook for beans?
I love beans, but at my elevation they are difficult to cook. So my go-to book is Great Vegetarian Recipes Under Pressure by L. Sass. I mostly use it for its table of pressure cooking times for beans. In the summer, I don't use a recipe (gas…

How do you start a cookbook club?
What a wonderful coincidence! That sounds like a great group you've found and I have enjoyed the cookbook, too. Sadly, I have to give it back to the library today, but I will come back to read your reviews, and check it out again. There are …

Food grinder recipes?
I think you will be able to make really good burgers, too, if you are into that sort of thing. I have previously wanted that grinder attachment - will let you know if I can remember why... lol...

2017 and the cooking club still lives! Same members! We eat out in December, and try to get a kitchen tour. I am hosting in may, and selected "my two souths" for our cookbook.

Deleted recipe review?
I have not, but I've not been a regular here for a while (sorry everyone - I'm not doing much cooking these days, but I miss you all). I am here to look for an old review, and will let you know if I find anything suspicious.

You are wonderful, Andrew. I've noticed that the advertisements have disappeared. I certainly do not mind the ads - esp. if it help you break even. Thank you for keeping our little social group together. We love it.

What new kitchen gear do you hope to get this holiday?
After decades of wanting one, I bought a stand mixer while remodeling the kitchen 1.5 yrs ago. It gets quite a bit of use - and to echo something I read somewhere - its amazing to be able to step aside to get your next ingredient while the thing is…

What new kitchen gear do you hope to get this holiday?
I do have a mandolin, but some things do better with graters. I have two microplanes (which I dearly love), but I end up resorting to flat graters for things like cheese - these are 30+ years old, secondhand, and not sharp. But who knows. And I k…

Another reason to switch to chrome. I'm a firefox kinda person, but people keep telling me to wake up and smell 2014... haha. But this just might be the thing that tips it to chrome. Thanks.
